The technical edge that sets Alucast apart.
While most UK foundries focus on repeating established processes, Alucast has invested consistently in engineering capability - from proprietary alloy development to academic research partnerships - to give our customers solutions they can't find anywhere else.
Strength of iron,
at one-third the weight.

Our engineers developed Alu-HP1 as a direct response to a specific customer problem: the need for an aluminium casting with mechanical properties close to SG Iron 420:12. Conventional aluminium alloys couldn't get there. Alu-HP1 does.
- →Mechanical properties comparable to SG Iron 420:12 - in a lightweight aluminium casting
- →Developed and refined through Alucast's in-house technical programme
- →Enables component lightweighting without sacrificing structural performance
- →Opens HPDC to applications previously considered outside aluminium's capability envelope
For automotive, hydraulic and industrial buyers looking to reduce weight without compromising on strength, Alu-HP1 is a genuine, provable differentiator.
A structured, academic-backed innovation roadmap.
In 2022, Alucast entered a five-year research and development partnership with Aston University to build a new servitization model for UK foundries. The programme adds new engineering service capabilities every six months.
Capabilities beyond casting, when a project demands it.
Alucast is a member of the Manufacturing Assembly Network - a group of 13 UK manufacturing businesses employing 1,750 people across complementary engineering disciplines. MAN membership gives our customers access to capabilities that extend beyond aluminium casting.
A tangible, evidenced sustainability commitment.
Alucast is an active participant in end-of-life (EOL) aluminium recycling research - working to reduce reliance on imported virgin aluminium, cut energy consumption and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, in partnership with leading material science academic organisations.
This work supports our ISO 14001 accreditation - for procurement teams with sustainability KPIs and ESG reporting, it's a commitment, not a marketing claim.
